2006 55-plate Mk8 Civic 2.2 i-CTDi Sport 5 Door (Price Reduced)

Well it’s time to put the Civic up for sale after over 11 years in the family.  Pictures are linked below along with a potted history and more detail can be provided if required…

The car was originally registered at the end of January 2006 in Swindon to Honda as a staff car and spent about 9 months there before being shipped, with a batch of similar cars, to a main dealer in Northern Ireland.  It kept its UK plate and was bought by my Father in Law from the main dealer.  He kept it until the end of September 2014, by which time he’d purchased its replacement – a Mk9 Civic Tourer.  We therefore purchased it off him to replace our aging Fabia TDi Estate and brought it back to England.  It is therefore a three-owner car and, apart from the first few months has acted as daily transport for one of the members of our family, doing local mileage with longer runs for work once or twice a week.

It’s a 2.2 i-CDTi so is pretty much bullet-proof but has been well looked after and currently has around 82,500 miles on the clock, which is low for its age, and an MOT that runs until mid-April 2019.  This shouldn’t change much as its replacement is already here and in use so its parked up on a neighbour’s drive at the moment.

It has a full service history from new, with a main dealer until 2009 and then, whilst in Northern Ireland by and independent, ex-Honda mechanic.  Once it came to us it was services by my trusted local garage until they moved premises and then my trusted VAG specialists.  This was all annually until 2012 and from then mileage-based, rather than time-based, but whatever has needed to be done has been done.  The last service was in March 2017 at 76,000 miles and included oil, filters, drop links and a new shock absorber and it’s also recently had new wipers, a new pollen filter, two new struts for the rear hatch and a new battery.  It has also been treated to regular doses of Forte Advanced Diesel Treatment and had a new battery this year.

All four tyres were replaced in early 2016 with Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta’s that have now covered about 12,000 miles so still have plenty of tread left.

Mechanically it is in good condition and delivers good MPG and bodywork-wise the car is very good for its age, although it does a have a couple of tiny trolley dings, a very minor scuff on the rear bumper that has been touched up and one of the wiper arms is starting to show a bit of bubbling.  It has had no accident damage other than a front bumper replacement due to someone catching it whilst parking in 2009 but it has had a new rear hatch window after a stray golf ball went through it.  The external black plastic trims have also been treated with G-Techniq C4 so are a good dark grey and haven’t gone the usual weathered grey / white that most have.

The interior is the usual black velour with grey cloth trim and a grey / black dash with black door trims and a pale headlining, which is all in a clean and tidy condition.  All the owners have been non-smokers.

It is in Alabaster Silver in Sport specification which includes 17” alloys, Xenon headlights, AC, VSA, electric windows all round, body coloured electric adjusted heated mirrors, power steering, ABS, 6 speaker MP3 CD stereo, height adjustable drivers seat, and key operated central locking.  All of this works as it should.

There are no outstanding recalls on the car, it doesn’t have the Takata airbag issue and it has had the modified handbrake lever fitted, albeit the plastic lever cover has recently suffered the usual cracking so has had to be repaired.

The car will come with two keys and all the information and receipts from its time in the family, including the original information wallet, manuals, and key tags etc., as well as a touch up stick.

I also have an official Honda spare wheel kit that has never been used, a Type-R gearknob, a sidelight DRL module and a front right ABS sensor for the car, although these may be sold separately.

It is being sold as seen but is in good condition all round and is probably in better condition with lower mileage than most currently on sale and is immediately available, so I’d ideally be wanting about £2,000 £2,500 for it.

Price reduction to £2,000 ONO as it's still sitting on the drive...

The reason behind the sale is we’ve also got two other cars – so I’ve downsized and gone hybrid for my day-to-day car.

I can provide further info and higher resolution pictures if needed via PM etc.
