coding

Featured Replies

I'm planning to retro fit a AMUNDSEN+ headunit to replace my standard BOLERO unit

will the unit work once fitted without  coding?

stu

It'll probably work to some degree but it'll depend what equipment it was previously coded for.

To make sure it works properly, you should get have the both the headunit and car coded :)

hi mate

I only asking as I plan to fit this weekend and hopeful get it coded when my mate gets home

I was just hoping it would  at least work until it was coded

The unit will work as a standalone unit at least, but it won't interface correctly with the car until the car is coded and knows you've fitted the nav unit.

hi again

is it pretty straight forward to code the car to accept the Amundsen unit?

where abouts would I need to look for the coding to be changed ?

Takes a couple of minutes if you know what to do.

Basically, open controller 19 (Can Gateway) and go to "Installation List". Put a tick in the box for 37 Navigation on this list, and then exit / save, it should tell you "Coding Accepted" or something along those lines. That's the part to tell the car there's now a sat nav unit installed.

Then open (the now visible) controller 37 and code the unit to the cars specification. This particular coding will be dependant on the car and its particular specification and set up. This is pretty much telling the Amundsen what features the car has and what to speak to in what fashion. Select all relevant stuff, and deselect anything not relevant.
