Variable service

Featured Replies

Since new had our Octy on variable service setting, last one October 17 , when we picked it up a label said next service 10/18. Question is can I leave it till 10/19 or have they done something that it will come up on computer making me have it earlier .Present mileage is 98k   last service was at 92k.

If it was serviced with long life oil it can be on variable servicing.

Do you have an invoice showing the oil used?

?

What is the service indicator showing as time / miles to the next service?

If whoever set it to fixed servicing, 9,400 miles / 372 days that is what is counting down.  If they did that ask them why they did.

Personally although I tend to use the long life 507.0 spec oil I still change it on the fixed servicing interval, doing 15-16,000 miles a year this gives me an oil and filter change roughly every 8 months and I change the Air and Pollen Filter every second oil change...... I just can't see the sense in doing 18,000 miles or thereabouts on the same oil just to save £40.

They put on door pillar 104k for next service. As to why, when I mentioned it they said the oil is for variable as well. Thinking back I should have said why. Thanks for answer
