I've come across a silver mk1 Octy vRS hatch for sale, which looks quite tidy and I may take a trip to have a viewing.  It's advertised as 'one owner from new' so if that's true, I thought that the one owner may likely have frequented these parts and may still be around. 

 

Any info/advice appreciated.

Thanks.  Yes, I've done that and looks to have been well maintained though perhaps scrimping on new tyres in the last few years 

Yes, it does look like normal wear & tear for a performance motor.

Unless there's a full annual service log, given the very low mileage covered over the last few years I'd consider a giving it a very deep service and a new set of boots before pointing it at Yorkshires fine touring routes.

Go with your gut feeling.
