Amundsen system

Featured Replies

Has anyone had any problems with the Amundsen sat nav? Mine sometimes wil take me off a motorway or main road only to take me round the roundabout or on a detour then put me back on the road I was originally on, also choosing the route, can you read the directions of each route or do you just have to pick red, yellow or green?

It could be bad reception or snippets of a previous road obstruction, but hard to say. Like any other computer, it has it’s weird moments. Remember also, that like the other “assistants” they are assistants, not something you have to follow slavishly.

The suggested routes can be viewed by changing the scale of the map with two fingers, just like any other electronic map. Often, two of them are so close that it is hard to tell any difference.

Thanks very much mate

it can depend on the route you chose, on our Lexus previous to the Karoq on the M20 it would suggest we took a parallel road that can come off the motorway but it would tell us to stay on and rejoin the motorway, I think because we had chosen shortest route and although not straight forward it was the shortest.  Also if you have it to automatically change route when it detects traffic jams that could be the problem.

Had our Karoq a week now and on one journey, it as described before, took us off a motorway then back on at the next junction despite there being on congestion etc.  Also it decides to take you some odd back roads when you know or think you know there is a more direct route.

Does it it make any difference on which route you selec ie fast, eco or short?

another question is that I like to havcthe speed displayed on the centre section of the dash. Can it be configured that the sat nag direction overrule when a turn comes up?

cheers Fleagle

You can have the speed shown in the center display - using the thumb wheel on the steering wheel, but I do not think the satnav will override in that configuration, but you still get voice commands for the turns.

Yes, I tend to use Eco, but fast tends to use motorways/national speed limits etc. and can be longer distance wise, but quicker time wise.
