Skoda Connect ... "loading"

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just sat in the car configuring Connect but it seems to be taking ages sat on the "Loading" screen.

is this common?

Yes, mine did the same. I left it for a good 10 minutes (the manual mentions it can take "several minutes"), but grew impatient.

I hit the back button to try it again but it was already set up, job done.

Ok cool. I'll try again tomorrow morning :)

Typically takes 10-15 mins for the initial setup after that it’s much faster.

Ooooh... what's the 'Technical Package'? Mine never did that.

@WiggosSideburns - if you update the maps when connected to the internet (mines connected to our home wifi when parked at the house) it'll call it a "Technical Package". UK map updates for England South and England/Ireland comes in at just under 1GB so it's taking a while.

Taking a while is an understatement. I tried downloading updates last week via Wi-fi and ended up leaving it for a few hours with a battery charger connected just in case. And even then, I’m just pretty sure it still didn’t complete until the next day.

Do you need to have the ignition on?

In other words leaving it to do its thing, if it takes hours, means the DRL's are lit and the car has to be left unlocked?

Not sure. If you turn the ignition off doesn't that shut down the headunit too?

I left the ignition on. My drive is pretty secure.
