Cam belt change advice

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My yeti is 5.5 years old now with 69,000 on the clock. vehicle status says service due in 5,500.

Seems a way off, should I be thinking of getting the cam belt changed, seem to recall it should be done at 60k.

Or do I just follow the status message and wait another 5,000.

My miles are mostly motorway and rural.

Cheers, David

Cambelt change for vehicles registered BEFORE September 2010 is every 4 years.

Vehicles registered FROM September 2010 is every 5 years.

That's regardless if PD or CR.

Going by the above, your cambelt should have been changed 6 months ago.

Don’t they say it’s worthwhile getting the water pump done at the same time?

I certainly would and any other associated wearing components.

The cheapest quote might be false economy too.
