I need to move a dining room table from London to Wales.  Roof bars seem to be the only option as it will not fit (2" out!) inside even with the back seats removed.

Will it be safe to do this?  What sort should I buy?  I do not have a sun roof.  Any advice would be really helpful (within reason of course).

The roof bars will have a load (weight) limit, don't exceed it, and if you go ahead make sure it is secure!

Over the last couple of months I have been just missed by, bikes and their rack, holiday suitcases and

a couple of dining chairs.

Roof bars will be more than adequate, and since you are just down the road from me you are welcome to borrow mine instead of buying some. However you will need the little studs in the roof rails to fit them.
The weight limit of the roof is 100kg and I doubt a table will be that much.

Another option would be to ask Hafren Furnishers here in Llani how much they would charge to bring them back, as they are down in London at least once a week. They might be quite reasonable.
