Hello from Greece

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I have been the proud owner of a Skoda Octavia5 combi 4x4 for the last month and a half. I have been logging on to this site in silence for a few months now and I wanted to say thank you for helping me out in making my desicion. I have not regreted it at all! One thing is a problem... I keep on wanting to drive my new car!!!!

Just yesterday I put to work the 4x4 and esp of the car. We had gone for a ski trip in Parnasos here in Greece (haven't bought snow chains yet, I know, i know, I have too...) and towards the end of our ride there was ice and snow all over the place. I'm very pleased with the way the car handled!

Regarding Snow chains, I was told from the dealer that I should ONLY put on the chains that DO NOT link behind the wheel. I should use the ones that clip on the wheel and only cover the traction area of the wheel (son=mething like a tank belt). Is anyone aware of this? I'm asking because the regular snow chains go from anywhere between 50-200 euros and the ones they are telling me to use start at 400euros.

Talk to you soon!

Peter

Hi and Welcome to Briskoda

Hi & welcome - unfortunately I have no idea about the snow chain stuff, you might want to post that question separately in the Fabia section :)

Why would you want to post a question about snow chains for an Octy 4x4 in the Fabia section? :P .

Anyway, welcome to the forum. Didn't realise you got snow in Greece!!.
