Skoda Connect (web version not the app)

Featured Replies

I have just noticed that while using the web based Skoda Connect that my profile shows as 'unverified'.

I think that this has just happened when Skoda Connect was down for maintenance/upgrade.

According to Skoda you have to visit a dealership for them to verify who you are and that you own the car even though I bought it from an authorised dealer who already has my details. They update their systems which then allows access to all services via Skoda Connect.

As far as I'm aware, I already have access to all services available via Skoda Connect.

Has anyone else noticed this or been to a dealership to be 'verified'?

Just checked mine and it seems to be working as expected and I see no "unverified" status.

I also have not been to the dealer since I got it 4 weeks ago.

You don't see it on the main screen. I only noticed it when I clicked on User Profile.

Okay now I see it as well. Funny as currently I seem to be able to use all the services anyway.

maybe this is to do with the new features they mentioned in a recent newsletter.

Yes I seem to be able to use all of the services.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see if it has anything to do with the new features.

Would be interested to know if anyone's profile comes up as 'verified'.

Just checked my profile, and sure enough, it says 'unverified'. I then contacted my dealer and spoke to the salesman who I dealt with, but he wasn't aware of any verification process. My Skoda Connect facility seems to be doing everything that's available, so I'm not sure if there's anything else 'hidden' accessible after verification? I do recall reading somewhere about being able to preset a timer to bring on the Auxiliary Heater, but that could be for vehicle in colder climes.

The salesman suggested I speak to the Service Manager and ask the question, as they'd all gone home when I rang - I'll contact him tomorrow and see if he can enlighten me.

Quick update on this - rang my dealer again, but they were none the wiser. Then went on a Live Chat session with Skoda Connect, posed the question, gave them my registration number, and according to their systems I had full access to all the features, which I thought was the case, as I can't see what else it could do (apart from giving the car the ability to fly)!

I then asked why the profile status showed 'unverified' rather than 'verified', all they could suggest was deleting the vehicle, then re-adding it to see if this changes the status. I then asked if they could send a verification link, but this is not something they could do as all emails are handled in the Czech Republic, but doing the above would regenerate a link. Personally I don't think it's worth risking it as everything is working as it should, and I wouldn't like to lose the ability to send travel routes through to the car from the comfort of my armchair!

I agree, if its not broken then leave it.

@westie38 did you 'subscribe' to the connect service in order to get all these 'extra' services? - All i seem to have is 'infotainment' and my app apart from sending routes remotely to the car doesnt seem to do anything else!

The subscription is free for the first year and the Connect services doesn't do much more than a decent smart phone can do (news, weather were you are, or going to), so unless Skoda are bringing any new features to Connect as they say they are, it's a bit of a novelty.
