Welcome.

They can not make the car fit for purpose without a new engine so unless they are prepared to splash out about £3,500 to get one and fit it they are going to have to take the car back.

You do not say how many miles it has done, or if this is the cars original engine still fitted, but no matter a rebuild with new pistons and rings is not going to fix it now.

hi thanks for quick reply, its the original engine and its done 64000

That is heavy oil consumption. The dealer will be able to do compression tests to see where the problem is. It would fail an MOT for excessive smoke

Edited by edbostan

They do not fail the MOT's on excessive smoke because seldom under the test is it an issue because at heat and as tested the oil is burned in the cat,

and the oil issue is 'Bore Wash' and it is not really common for oil or soot to exit the tail pipe except the belch of smoke under acceleration after running rich while getting up to operating temp.

The pinned thread is at the top of the page on the oil issue, and dozens of other threads in here from 2010 until today.

?

Is it a CAVE Engine or a CTHE.

If a CAVE do you know if it had the Beather Mod & Software Update, or ever had the new Oil Sprat jets fitted.

Or a Official Oil Consumption Test done.

A Compression test will be good, but the result will not be a surprise, we know what it will show.

its the cave engine, there is full service history but no mention of anything being done, have looked in tyre well in the boot and there is  a big white sticker but nothing on it stated its had the 2014 34f7 service campaign done or anything else

'34 F7' is the DSG Service Campaign and nothing to do with the engine.

Have you checked with Skoda UK if there was any Warranty History or is that what you have with the Full Service History'.

When was the Water Pump replaced under Warranty, before you got it?

Anyway that has nothing to do with the Excessive Oil use.

The Engine Oil Capacity is only 3.6 liters, i used to put in 3.9 or 4 litres of VW 502  so 5w 40 FS.

As it is your engine is toast, best reject the car because a new engine is the only solution.

?

How many previous keepers has it.

This was an example of a Main Dealer Official Oil Consumption test,

there is an obvious error, just not to the technician as engine oil is not 1,000 grams a liter.
