Superb!!

Sorry I was a bit blunt but to diagnose the issue you need a code reader or VCDS which, if you are asking the question, you don't own, and even if you did, would you be able to fix the problem yourself?

The best thing to do in this circumstance is to find a good independent garage that will scan your car and diagnose the issue and give you a price for repair. Then you can come back and we can discuss what they have said and what they are going to charge you.

Or you could look on the VCDS owners map on the forum and see if a forum member can help you out. Sadly you are a bit far away for me to be of any use.

Maybe explain then.

Have you already done the mod?

The Exhaust Emissions Control Light / Engine light can show from a Twincharger sitting ticking over for a while while a service is done,

running 95 ron, misfires from bad plugs or a coil.

The Engine Light can go out without a Code Reader and Reset being done.

Engine lights can come on with the Water Pump / Supercharger Magnetic Clutch needing replaced etc.

Or someone messing about with the exhaust, / lambda sensors.

PS

Whoever you go to if going to a mechanic or tech be sure they know about Twinchargers and not just TSI / TFSI's,

you get so much poor gen from those with no knowledge, training or experience of 1.4 TSI / TFSi 132 /136kw Twincharger engines.

Not all misfires log a Fault Code if not enough happen in a cycle.

That’s ok... to be fair your right!

garage it’ll be... the car is driving lovely... the light just popped up!

and the Manual :)just says exhaust? So I was hoping no big deal.....

Since you are here now many tell the story.

How long have you had it?  Do you know the Service & Warranty History before you got it?

How many miles has your 64 plate done?

Is it Standard.

What servicing has it had done?

ie when were the spark plugs changed, and the air filter changed?

Do you run it on 95 ron or Super Unleaded 97/99 petrol.

PS/

EDIT.

I have read your post from 2017 on the car now.

So what servicing have you had done since November 2017?

Did you fit those spark plugs you got?   How many miles since you did, or did someone else fit them?

I know the manual word for word, typos and lost in translations.

?

Is it the 'Engine Light' showing,  the Exhaust Emission Control light.  Not the EPC, which can also show, both can and then limp mode occurs.

It is not just the exhaust, but the sensors will be picking up issues, any of the things above i mentioned can have the Engine Light come on.

So be aware that the Water Pump / Magnetic Super charger clutch can, this is one warning of that issue.

Also the Timing Chain issue with CTHE engines.

Only use people that know the engines, nobody that says i work on these all the time, they are easypeasy.

Hello Offski.. WoW!! Where do I start? I’ve had the car for 9 months! It has full Skoda service history! Plus full service when I purchased the car.. I’ve not done anything to the car!! Apart from a pipercross air filter!! A standard replacement... nothing fancy!!

thats it!!

I’m worried now...  I’ll take it to Skoda and see what they say?

I’ll book it in for an oil n filter change... and see what happens????? Shame because I’m getting 43/45plus to the gallon

using 99 petrol.. just giving to some beans !!! Every now n then... It has been so so very good... gutted...:crying:

No need to worry.

If you got a 12 month warranty and that is still valid you are sorted.

The Full Main Dealer Service History can mean not much ever gets done.

The Oil & Filter will, the Pollen filter might get changed, the inspection and report might get done, a look see, the free wash and vacuum,

& even at 40,000 miles there is no guarantee the Spark Plugs or Air Filter are changed as some say that is at 60,000 miles.

Some say the Fuel Filter is fitted for life and some change them at 40,000 miles.

So ask the Dealership to diagnose the reason for the Engine Emissions light, if it does stay on until you get the car there.

If you are buying Shell V-Power Nitro + maybe try Tesco Momentum 99 instead.

PS

Take that pipercross Air Filter out and put in a new £16 or so OEM Air Filter.

No point of Performance Filter that are dirty, strangling the engine maybe and having the Exhaust Control Light coming on.

If it is still on with the New OEM Filter nothing lost, put the Pipercross back in next time when washed and dry.  Or just Bin it.

Running a Standard CTHE and not a Remapped one and worried about warranties best not go with stuff for the noise that gives no performance benefit,

and can give the exact opposite.
