Front wiper motor not working

Featured Replies

Hello,

i have Octavia II 2005 1.6 MPI

please I need your help regarding wiper motor does not work.

I did everything and all troubleshooting but it does not work when I gave up I went to the garage and he could not fix the problem ( we changed motor & wiper arm all fuses are ok )

Washer water is working but motor not ( there is 12V in the motor socket connected all the time and never disconnected but the wiper motor does not working!! )

i tested with fabia Wiper motor it is working all time and never stop I tested 3 used original Octavia wiper motor they are not working at all even the seller said they supposed to work.

any recommend action I can try?!

not sure from the description but have you changed /checked the wiper spindle housings for binding?   they are prone to corrosion and will eventually seize solid (one with the other not far behind)

i have already disconnected the wiper mechanism and tried to connect the motor direct to the power socket but still the same not working!

Just to add here... if either the bonnet or the boot are open the wipers will not work..

Also the switch in the bonnet catch can give up the ghost and needs taking out the system. This will obviously have the same effect as the car thinking the bonnet is still open .You can't get to the switch either annoyingly. If you need a picture of what to do with the switch wiring let me know.
