Sat in my 2010 yeti, 2.0tdi in Tesco's carpark and revved the car (basically to see if there was more smoke coming out of it) and it only revs upto 2500rpm!

 

Is this normal?

 

I was expecting it to go upto the red line or further!

    Perfectly normal, and yes it is a safety feature.

    Bit of a pain trying to do the noise test at a motorsport event!
