Yeti - rear wiper motor and stop start under warranty

Featured Replies

Hi all,

As per my previous post ref the above couple of issues, the  car is about 2.5 yrs old so I had hoped the issues would be covered under warranty, (they were).

Just collected the car from Worcester Skoda, (nearest approved Skoda dealer to me), it took a few weeks to get it "booked in" and they had the car for 2 days. However both issues have been sorted. A new rear motor, (I understand this is a "known issue")

After checking and agreeing the the "stop start" was not operating regularly they checked the battery, cleaned the terminals and left it on charge overnight. Still with no joy so they manually "re-adjusted" the electronic settings (?), and on the way back home at the first junction it worked!!! (ironically I am not actually a fan of "stop/start" but I wanted it sorted while still under warranty).

Anyway really good and friendly service from Powick Skoda and the only cost to me was an insurance waiver of £10 for the 2 day loan of a Skoda Rapid.

I was rather impressed with this engine it being only 1.0 ltr. It went like stink if you wanted it to, pulled well from 1500 rpm, 30 mph per 1,000 rpm in top and trying hard managed 70+mpg (indicated), and 64 mpg when driving "normally".

As and when I come to chop the Yeti something with this engine will be on my wish list. The only problem is that as nice as the Rapid is, the interior / extras are not up to the standard of the Yeti. (Purchased the Yeti to tow a caravan and then decided to do B&B instead, so we don't really need a 1.4 now...but I guess that's life!)
