You'll need VCDS to code the Columbus to let it know there is a camera connected.

this is what it says in item discription,

Kufatec 36492-2 Rear View Camera Interface for Skoda & VW navigation system RNS-315 / RNS-510

Greater convenience

This rear view camera -Interface you have the option when reverse gear is engaged, the image of the rear view camera * reproduce directly on the monitor of your factory navigation system.

Due to the specially tailored to the vehicle configuration rear view camera interface devices, this can be quite easily plugged into the terminal block of the navigation system. The provision of additional video input is permanently active, but to like the original when selecting reverse gear rear view camera switched *.

For more road safety

This rear view camera -Interface you have a significant improvement in safety when reversing (eg recognition of children playing) a substantially simplified orientation when maneuvering or Einparken- all without installing any optically interfering additional monitors.

Well, it says what it will do, and it will do that, but as @langers2k pointed out, unless coding with VCDS, the Columbus won't know to expect the video signal and display it on its screen ... there is an exception to the rule, but I don't like to make simple things complicated

The description isn't particularly helpful.

Read the fitting instructions, it tells you what coding needs doing ;)
