When I test drove the dealer's 1.5TSI Edition it had a colour display between the rev and speedometer.  Does that only come with the Edition or the columbus? Didn't find any option to select 'colour' or 'black&white' when I ordered my SEL. Now waiting for it to be built.

To make it clearer

I think the colour maxidot is standard on SEL and Edition and optional on the SE and SE Tech, TBF not a massive difference, i had colour in my Octavia and now B&W in the Karoq, not really noticed.

I'm pretty sure you are right and it was discussed here somewhere in the past. At that point it was optional on the SE and adding it came with a £100 price.  It is currently a €102 add-on in Ireland.

Thank you both. Just had a look at the SE and SE Tech configurator and you're right. You get to select it there but the option doesn't show on the SEL and Edition which should mean it's already included.

There is no reference to "Maxidot" in the Karoq manual. The Multi-function Display between the speedo and rev counter on my MY18 spec. SE-L is mono-chrome.

The configurator does call it a colour multifunction display and it's only available to select on the SE and SE Tech.

i paid the extra looks a lot better. Green gear change arrow,Green direction indicator satnav, Red emergency brake warning, Red doors open, Red ring around traffic signs,

Do you have the SE Tech or was the option available on the SEL when you made the order?

My car is the SEL version, and came standard with the colour display

Yeah comes as standard with SEL.

I notice you have a double ring around the traffic sign recognition speed indicator. I sometimes get this too. What does it mean? And, out of curiosity, did it detect a 100 mph sign like in your photo?

Picture is of the config dont know what the double ring is mine has done this as well thought it was broke

It's showing 2 road signs - there's one behind the speed sign. If you scroll through the driving info menu you can see the road signs full-size in the middle of the maxi-dot (in place of consumption, speed, etc). 

 

The '100' sign is for 100kph.

I wonder why the traffic sign recognition shows two signs, one behind the other? I can live with it because it's only rarely that it does this. I have the main display set to show the MPH numerically as I like it this way.
