An interesting week . . .

Featured Replies

Last Friday forgot my laptop so went home to collect it, on getting into the car the engine warning light was on . . .  Oh s..t, we drive to France in 10 days.

Called in to Cannock and left it with them for diagnosis.  Wife collected me in her car and I was greeted with "The button has come off the handbrake lever"

I put the button back on and it seemed to stay in place (it is a 2015 Mokka and about 3 months out of warranty)

Skoda called, secondary coolant pump fault, parts ordered car booked in for Thursday this week.

Saturday the button came off the Mokka handbrake again, she could not get the handbrake off (we were sat in a long queue of traffic on an uphill stretch of road).  Managed to find the button and re-assemble, there is now some cling film wrapped around the lever to keep the button on.

Visited Vauxhall yesterday - the part is £150!!!!  The button isn't available and you have to change part of the lever, to do that you have to take the passenger seat out . . . I was just thinking dare I attempt this when another parts guy mentions a bulletin.  Turns out that there is a known fault and Vauxhall may fix it for free.  Parts ordered and waiting for a decision from Vauxhall.

They say everything comes in threes . . . .

Sorry sir, wear and tear, excessive use by the missus.....:talking:

I spoke too soon - on the way back in yesterday the car beeped, missus tells me off but there are warnings on the dash for auto-hold failure and brake failure . . .

They are looking at it while it is in today.

The good news from Vauxhall on the Mokka handbrake is that they will pay 70%.  Our portion of the bill for the handbrake is about half of the parts cost.  Looks like their logic is 10 year life and we have had 3 years of it so pay 30%.

Auto brake was a jammed button ! ! ! Strange -  I never touch it.

Secondary coolant pump changed.  Left for France.

Last Wednesday the engine management light came on again, no call for heating out there (30 centigrade plus) so didn't notice lack of warm air until yesterday, looks like the secondary pump has gone again.  Other than this the car ran faultlessly.

Got back to UK yesterday so will go see the dealer.

Oxymoron time again....:notme:

Just collected mine, they have replaced the other secondary coolant pump (v488) so it has had both replaced in the last three weeks.

I just expected them to do the diagnosis today but it is fixed.

Maybe one was compensating for the other?  Wild guess
