SKODA ASSIST IN EUROPE

Featured Replies

Just discovered this site having bought new Kodiaq a couple of months ago.  Already have RAC max cover from previous car but it would cost £30+ for use in France. Has anybody any comments on how efficient (or not) Skoda Assist was if needed abroad?

No experience of actually needing it (not in Europe, but have used them in the UK), but it does provide the same level of cover in Europe as it does in the UK. As always, check it meets your needs, but unless you have some special circumstances, it should provide all the breakdown cover you need for the first 3 years.

The one time I did use them (on my previous Octavia), it was simply an RAC van that came out - the service is provided by them in the UK, and it'll be the same for other European countries I'm sure. It's not like BMW / Mercedes / Audi who even have their own branded vans (although I believe the service is still run by RAC/AA/whoever in those cases as well).

Breakdown services will always vary day-by-day depending on the supplier, demand and of course location (amongst others influences).

I've utilised the services of both the AA and RAC here in the UK, and more recently the cheapest possible provider through an online comparison site (Kwik Fit), with varying customer satisfaction.

I've never used Skoda's Roadside Assistance before, but there have been several threads on their performance both here in the UK and overseas, mostly with positive feedback.

I'd imagine the actual roadside support abroad is contracted out to a third party, but by all accounts they use established and well-respected organisations.

Be sure to check out their roadside assistance handbook (scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page linked below)...

Mixed reviews here, albeit from last year...
