vRS estate coilovers - what else do I need?

Featured Replies

As per title really.

Recently had rear springs replaced and -now that they’ve settled - the stance is reasonably flat.

Bit high though with 18s, so I’m looking at some inexpensive coilovers.

Happy to fit myself and looking at the JOM Blueline. They seem reasonable quality and performance for not much dough.

So what else should I do at the same time? Any hidden costs I need to consider? :notme:

I’d buy new front top mount bushes and bearings, either Cupra R ones or polybush, depending on how harsh you like the ride. I have cheap coilovers and had polybushed top mounts and found it harsh, so replaced them with Cupra R ones, had to replace my strut bearings so did it all at the same time. My mate has jom and polybush and says it feels ok. Also on the front get new pinch bolts that secure the shock to the hub. I’d also replace the rear shock mounts and get new bolts, for both rear top mount and lower mount. I’ve just replaced mine as my one shock had blown it’s seals. Think that’s all. In another note I have front polybush mounts and rear top mounts if your interested? Send me a DM if you are.

As above top mounts and bearings are very worth while changing.
