Advice needed. No phone connection after bumper refitted

Featured Replies

I had a small accident in my 12plate octavia vrsand had my bumper, grill, light and intercooler changed by the body shop. I've picked my car up today and I have no phone options on the maxidot or on the display screen and if I press the phone button it mutes the radio. my phone is showing as connected but there is no function in the car. i had to reset the time so im guessinv the battery was disconnected. Anyone know if this is something silly I have missed or should I be heading back to the repair centre?

Any help would be great

thanks in advance

Sounds like a Bluetooth module issue - what HU have you got?

sorry I'm a bit rubbish I don't know what HU means. I have taken it back to the repair centre and they are going to book it into skoda as they can't find the fault and tried telling me I never had blue tooth.

Hi,

HU = Head Unit (Radio).  The Bluetooth module should be under the drivers side seat (covered by a bit of black plastic).

When I had an Oct 2 I had issue with my Samsung which would refuse to connect.  After a while I worked out if the phone ran low on battery in the car it would disconnect and the only way to re connect was to reset an option on the phone and re-sync.  After about 4 months of ownership I did a firmware upgrade on the phone and from there on in it worked fine.

What Phone have you got?

oh I'm not sure just the one that fitted as standard in the 62 plate black edition. both Samsung and I phone are saying connected but the phone function no longer exists on the car.

hopefully it's an easy fix.

That is strange .... I cant see how disconnecting the battery would remove the Bluetooth option from the Maxi Dot display/Main Menu.

It'd be worth checking the Bluetooth module is plugged in and that plug isn't lose (under drivers seat).  I dont know if there is a fuse on the module but that would be worth checking as well.

thanks still no joy. il leave it to the repair centre as it was there before they worked on the car. I think it's a mark 3.
