New VRS II

Featured Replies

Just taken delivery of my new motor and i am really impressed. I was sad to see my mkI go until i started to take it all in. I thought the old octy was solid but the doors make an even better thud in the new one. and you can tell someone has tought about the details like the kick plates on the door sills and all the storage etc. Just carn't wait till she's run in so i can checkout the motor properly. I'll let you all know when i do !

Haven't got a VRS but I too am impressed with the solid feel of the Octavia.

Enjoy!

Picked mine up last Friday.... fantastic aren't they ??

Neil. I'll be joining you soon. I get my new Octavia vRS in two weeks time. I'd be interested to hear your and 'skodaw's thoughts over the next couple of months especially as we will be fairly new owners of the car.

Liking mine a bit more now.

Glad to hear it

Problem all cleared up now then ?

The only thing that's driving me potty on mine is being without my iPod --- just waiting for the adapter loom and I'll be away.

On a more serious note though, I can't believe how different the Mk2 is to the Mk1 -- it's a much improved little beastie, quicker quiter larger and better built.

Just to check I drove an A3 2.0TFSi S-Line today -- I honestly would rather have the vRS, the A3 suspension is way too harsh for UK roads, and quite honestly the build quality does not appear to be any different !!

Just got mine delivered 2 hours ago.

Quite impressed so far. Seats could do with more lateral support and the ride is a little firmer than I was expecting (that said it had only done 16 miles!)

The throttle response is excellent and very linear delivery. It seems well put together too. I'm towing with it on the w.end so that will be interesting...

Congrats, good choice of motor! You should be out driving, not posting in this forum :D

Just picked mine up from the dealership today.

Done a grand total of 20 or so miles now and really happy with it but now back at work unfortunately. Might be forced to drive a fair bit this weekend.

A big step up from my old vRS and with quite a few options but still annoyed about having to pay for rear electric windows!

Paul..

Race Blue vRS with 18" alloys, rear elec/jumbo/dual zone climate, cruise, Xenons, maxi dot, rear parking sensors and cool removable tow bar!

The handling of the mkII vRS is vastly superior to the mkI vRS. After a very high speed passenger ride I was astounded at the speed at which corners could be taken, the ESP2 just kept it on track whereas I am certain the mkI would have understeered off. Even with a beefed up adjustable rear ARB my mkI could not attain the higher cornering speeds of the mkII (although in this case I would probably lose the back end and oversteer off )

IIRC Revo can map the 2.0T FSI to around 260-270 bhp  - this gives a realistic 0-60 of around 6.0 to 6.1 seconds  :D

Mine is just coming up for 5,000 miles!!, hold on in there for when youv'e run 'em in coz it gets better and better. Remap being done next week some time so keep an eye out on posts for a report on that shortly. I think there is a growing division between the MkI & MkII vRS Octy camp's, there are those that see the MkII as too 'soft'?.

5,000 miles already

I think some of the Mk1 guys see the extra refinement of the Mk2 as "Soft" , and along with the linear power delivery they feel there car is better....

When your a teenager you just want to get p!ss*d --- when you get to a certain age you learn to appreciate the finer wines
