Hello

 

I have a 2012 Octavia II 105 TDI with 123 000 km on it.

 

On two different occasions, when I started driving, the engine had very low power and low torque. I could get the car to approx. 80 km/h but not more that that. No warning lights or anything on the dashboard, no strange sounds or anything else, just bad "response" from the engine. Then suddenly, like the turn of a switch, the power/torque came back and everything was normal again. Outside temperature around 20 deg C.

 

Any ideas?

Temporarily stuck (probably gummed up) vanes in the turbo??? (might need to remove the turbo & clean - or maybe spray EGR cleaner directly  into the EGR valve intake, but that might not be permanent?).

A scan may help.

 

If warranted check the operation of the turbo actuator, search the Mr Muscle turbo cleaning trick.
