Looking to upgrade my dash cam to a duo system within £150-£250 max

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I currently have 2 dash-cams at present, this one at the front

& this one at the rear

They both work perfectly with no faults whatsoever so I don't really need to upgrade in a hurry but I do prefer the duo camera setup.

Now seeing that I've been looking around on the internet sites I have narrowed it down to 2 cameras that I actually like the look & spec, I was wondering if anyone on Briskoda has either one of these setup's below & if so! would you mind posting your'e thoughts on them please. I have checked out loads of reviews & watched a few videos on YouTube so these are the 2 that I'm torn between.

I do prefer the Mini 0906 for size & discreetness as I currently have the Mini 0806s but the Viofo a129 has a much better spec & when comparing them on YouTube videos, the Viofo definitely has better video quality, with the mini 0906 really not that far behind but noticeable especially at night time.

The Viofo a129 is a bit bulky from what I can see & don't want the dash cam that visible as I do like the discreetness factor? So what do you guys have to say about either dash-camera (if you have any 1 above that I'm interested about) Thanks B)

I don't have either of those, but recently purchased a Vantrue N2 Pro, which has dual cameras running at 1080p and takes a 256GB micro SD. Can also be switched to front only camera at 2.5K.

Has the usual sound, parking mode, impact mode when parked, lock file in emergency stuff.

Fantastic quality picture and sound. Internal facing camera has night vision, and front facing Sony lens has HDR.

Camera is very discreet and a GPS module can replace the normal power mount.

Excellent camera for under £150.00.

Worth a look.

No idea of spec, but can b viewed in most Sainsbury stores -dash cams by nextbase. Ones in my store are 50/70/130 .

I'd be very interested to hear your opinions on how this performs as I'm currently in exactly the same position and looking for a front/rear cam setup that doesn't cost the earth.

I believe the A129 has parking mode on it, but some reviews say it's not "true" parking mode, i.e. buffered. D'you know if that's the case?

Hi mate

The Viofo A129 is a fantastic piece of equipment, a lot of people loved the A119(s) or (pro) & this is so much better, I've had it in the vRS now for over 2 weeks & everything is working as it should & as you know it don't cost the earth B) picture quality is fantastic especially with the Sony Starvis sensor's etc...I've just purchased the A129 CPL filter which I should receive in the post very soon (I'll be using it for the front cam only as my rear window is tinted)

It does have parking mode, which is something I'm not using to be honest but the A129 does support parking mode & to check out information about that feature, you will be better off clicking on this link below for more accurate info  Great forum with really good help/support just like Briskoda B)

If you do buy the Viofo A129 which you can buy from the amazon link I posted above & the other amazon link is for the Sandisk 128gb SD card which gives me 8 hours of recording front/rear total time & that SD card also works perfectly.

The amazon link for the A129 is sold by "FoxOffer Ltd" which is Viofo's sister company but also run by Bill Zhou who is Viofo  so you will have no worries with any warranty etc should you need to use it or you can buy it direct from Viofo https://www.viofo.com/ just make sure you get it with the GPS & there is no import tax/delivery to pay either once you have purchased as Viofo pay that from there end.

If you need anymore info bud just ask me but I do recommend clicking on that forum link & you will find a lot of useful information that will assist you with any doubts or questions that I probably won't be able to help out on.

Batvan, many thanks for that....very useful.

Still not taken the plunge yet - it's actually for my g/f's Polo GTi and not 100% sure about how to hardwire in that.

There is a few threads on here about hard wiring in a dash-cam which hopefully you should find useful

The thing I'm most nervous about is removing the A pillar on a Polo - I've read various threads that suggest you have to practically swing on it to get it off, with quite a number saying that they broke the clips when attempting to to this :worried:
