What I need to freshen up my engine?

Featured Replies

Hello all
I new here and badly need help. My Octavia FL 1.8tsi is drinking too much oil about 1l on 300km so i decidet to "freshen" or "refreshe" my engine. What do i need? My plan is to take old pistons and rods if they aren't damaged but new piston rings bearings and valves.

After that will the oil consumption drop or stay? Olso i read about factory piston ring that are smaller so thats reason for oil consumption. Which rings should i put in that configuration of old piston and rod?

Thanks every one =)

So your engine code CDAA or CDAB already using that much oil, 1l on 300km (allowed maximum per manufacturer is up to 0,5l on 1000km, when you calculate it, you are on 0,5l on just 150km or 3,33l on 1000km) that is too bad ...

And according your info you can not start your engine any more, I am 99% sure it is not just problem of melted spark plugs, it looks like melted exhaust valve ...

and therefore you will need to do more than just new piston rings. What exactly you will need you find out when you dive into the engine, you might end up rather with another engine ...
