VRS DSG Thermostat for Transmission Fault

Featured Replies

Morning,

I had my car in for its MOT this morning and it passed, its a garage I've been using for years and I waited on it getting done. The car was on for around 45 minutes or so while they done the MOT and various tests. Upon driving home the EPC light came on, and showed no revs over 4000RPM and start stop failure.

I went back to the garage and a VCDS scan showed P19A0 - Thermostat for Transmission failure. He cleaned the fault but it kept reappearing in VCDS.

Is this a expensive job? My VRS is well out of warranty.

Could it just be a faulty thermostat?

Is it because its been sitting on for nearly an hour?

When he did clear it and I drove home, I didn't get the error again and the car drove as expected with the start stop was working as expected.

Thanks.

Just to add...

I let my car cool down in the drive for 2 hours there and took it a good drive, in Sport mode, in manual mode, in Eco and Normal mode. Didn't show any faults again and driving like normal.

Could it have been a glitch?

Thanks

I take this is a isolated case with the lack of comments :D

I hope it doesn't come back again.

Looks that way! Keep us updated if it comes back :)

Will do cheers, fingers crossed!

I did see this topic Offski, but I couldn't find a Thermostat for my DSG box anywhere online, could you suggest where to look?

Sorry no, i have only knowledge of DQ200's.   A VW Trained Tech will know though.
