Octavia abs problem

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have a problem with my skoda octavia 2002..

I have a yellow waring light for the anti spin, and also the EPC lamp.

Theese are the folowing things ive done

*Cleaned and measured all the four abs-donors and they are ok. Also checked the abs wreath, cleaned it with a steel brush.

*removed the abs controll unit and send it in for reparation, got it back and placed it back.

*replaced the camshaft sensor

*cleaned contacts and sensors in the engine compartment for the abs

*checked all the fuses and they are ok

And after every time iv'e been fixed some part i have used a troubleshooter to delete the yellow lights, but after a little time they return to the dashboard.

I dont have to do anyting for the yellow lamp to start lightning again things like brake, steering right or left, or even when the car is running i have tryed to move som electronic contacts to se if the lamp is start to flashing or appear/dissappear.

It feels more like it's random that makes them shine and i'm out of ideas.

Is there anyone here that haved a problem like this with any ideas?

cheers from sweden.

I would double check all the ABS rings and sensors for debris again. Are all tyres the correct size and correctly inflated?

Following that if the diagnostics tells you which wheel is causing the light then you could check the wiring for damage and possibly replace the sensor on that wheel.

Does the ABS work if you stamp on the brakes from 20-30mph? Does it cut in when it shouldn't?

Hey and thanks for the answer!

ive double checked all the rings and sensor and it sems great. All the tyres and rims are original.

the ABS works great when the lamps dosent show. But after ive been driving for a while the lamps turn on and it dosent work. Most of the time the lamps are on when i start the car..

@bjorkkas - Is it throwing a code with a narrative like "ABS (and/or ESR) fault at RHF"? If so, then if you believe the sensor and rotor are good, you need to continuity check the wiring next.

Any luck on this? I have the ESP light randomly coming on, especially nearer the winter and wet weather. Normally goes away on its own but now the damn thing wont and the MOT is due...
