Toledo door handle issue,ie Rapid.

Featured Replies

Hi all first post here. After receiving my car back from yet another accident repair that wasn't my fault I noticed when closing driver door that there was an echo from passenger door.

This concerned me for 6 days till I had a closer look today.

The latest damage was on the drivers side so I find it hard to believe there was some kind of change on the passenger side.

On investigation I found that the rubber that takes up the slack on the smaller part of the door handle assembly{static} is absent and there is a 2mm movement that when the door closes reverberates, then when closing the door and holding the smaller part its normal.

Ive phoned the repairer and they deny all knowledge but say they will record my calling. Also advise taking to an independent garage ...

My question is how do I remove the the hinging part  and the static part for further inspection and rubber replacement?

Will it require removal of the door card etc?

Thankyou in advance.

You can get the official workshop manual at ERWIN SEAT. (official VW group site)

I think it costs about 7 euro to buy website time and you can download all the documentation you need for your car during that time.

Hope that helps.

Thanks camel,I found the same handle on a 14 plate Polo and with the help from a wee guy on Youtube removed it with minimal difficulty.

Replacement was a breeze.

Thanks
