Leather vs Perforated Leather Seats

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm close to purchasing the 2.0 TSI 220PS 6spd DSG Skoda Superb Estate. However, I cannot decide between the leather or perforated leather seats.

I would like to know how owners find the breathability of the standard leather seats and if any owners with standard leather seats experience any sweating/discomfort/'stickiness' on long journeys. If the breathability is good for the standard leather seats, then I am confused as why someone would opt for the perforated leather seats? Having experienced some discomfort/sweating/stickiness when sitting on certain leather sofas for long periods of time I am worried I might experience this with standard leather seats. I am not sure how much of a difference I would experience sitting in the standard leather vs perforated leather seats for extended periods of time.

I generally like the look of the black standard leather seats more than the perforated leather seats, so I would only opt for the perforated ones if they offer superior comfort. Is there any other bonuses the perforated seats off in summer/winter?

I would rather not get the textile seats as I feel the leather ones look better.

Many thanks for your advice.

You don't mention which model you are planning to get, but if you don't have them as standard, I'd always spec DCC, ACC, Lane Assist etc highest before worrying about perforated seats.

Fyi I don't have the perforated seats in mine, and didn't suffer unduly in the recent hot spell (I have standard black leather in my L&K). But I suspect it is like most of the new innovations; you don't miss them until you have them, and once you have them you'd never be without them.
