Hi all.

 

I've recently bought a Fabia reaction (2013) but it didn't have a spare wheel, instead it has the tyre repair sealant kit.

 

I want to get a spare wheel and did a quick search online and It was around £150 for a 16" steel with tyre.

 

The reaction has the black 16" comet alloys so I did a quick search on e-bay and found one for a good price so bought it.

I did do a search before hand to check that a 16" alloy will fit in the tyre well and I thought I found a reply saying it will but I cant find it now and I'm having doubts.

 

Could any one confirm that a 16" comet alloy with a 205/45/16 tyre will fit in the well or have I just wasted money?

 

I know I need to get a jack and wrench but I should be able to pick them up cheap. I take it any 1 ton jack will be okay?

I can pick up a tyre and fit it myself so that will save some money.

 

Any help is appreciated.

Yes it will fit in the well.

The Mk2 Fabia will take 205/45 R 17 tyres in the Spare Tyre well, even 215/40 R 17.

 

Check out where you are going to be putting that trolley jack and check out 'Puck' threads for jacking. Saves damaging the car.

Do not jack using the rear axle beam.

Check out Briskoda for sales for a tool kit and foam insert, pity you never checked there for a wheel.

Wanted ads are a good idea there as well.

Thanks for the quick reply and conformation on the wheel fitting in the well offski.

 

I'll have a look in the sales section. Only discovered this site yesterday or I would have checked here first for sure.

 

Did a quick search for "puck jacking" but didn't turn up much?

You got it with the Puck.

I carried one of those and a Trolley Jack.

& the Scissor jack looks better than the jacks that come with the cars.
