DSG judder on slowing to a stop in 2nd

Featured Replies

Had my 2017 TSI VRS DSG for a couple of weeks now and have noticed that slowing to a stop in auto mode usually causes the revs to drop significantly in 2nd gear (down to around 500-600rpm). It's almost as if the clutch isn't being pulled in time as you could do in a manual if you don't dip the clutch in time. As the engine revs drop so low there is a slight shudder as if the car is about to stall just before the clutch is dipped and it's back to normal. Apart from this the gearbox seems to be behaving itself so this is a bit annoying

I've done some searching and can find lots of mentions of juddering on older cars and other versions of the dsg but nothing on such new Octavias - is this one of the many DSG quirks or an early sign of problems ahead?

Ask your dealer for the DSG software update, had mine done a couple months back during it's first service
