Voice control

Featured Replies

Picked up my new Fabia TSI SEL a few days ago. On pressing the voice button on the infotainment system just got the message contact the dealer. Phoned and was told that to unlock voice control it would cost £160. That seems to me ridiculous. To have a feature built into a car that simply requires a code and charge so much to unlock it. When buying the car no one mentioned voice control and it was not something I was expecting but when seeing that the car had this feature I was pleased as its so much safer to use voice while driving than fiddling around with buttons. It really does smack of some accountant somewhere in Skoda thinking we can screw more out of our customers with this slight of hand. I know it’s all about maximising profit but customer good will is what gets people to stick with a brand in the long term.

Did you get this sorted Mike?

My new Fabia has sat nav as standard but apparently I have to activate voice control at the dealer.

I would have thought the two should naturally go together?

Does voice even work with sat nav?.

All seems stupid to me.

Android Auto  with Google maps seems better by using the voice button on the steering wheel.
