EPC Light

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. My EPC light has just recently came on whenever I was driving I turned the fan to the 4 setting and after my car just slowed like if I was engine breaking so I just turned my fan off and the car drove normally again a few minutes later the EPC light switched back on and the car and it slowed down again as if I was engine breaking at around 2000-4000 revs and I just managed to get it home any ideas whats wrong and what to do ?

Thanks Ken

Needs a diagnostic scan and check the error codes. Either at a garage or diy with obdeleven or carista are the cheapest options.

Yeah got to sorted Thanks, all it needed was a few new bulbs crazy how something so little can affect the car and yes I was thinking of buying a car iPhone  OBD diagnostic tool would it be worth it for future use ?

Highly unlikely to have been anything with bulbs. They do not put on an EPC light nor do they affect engine running.

You might have disturbed some wiring /connector or more likely it was an intermittent fault like misfiring plugs/coil that has cleared for now.

I remember there was a Service Campaign on MK2 Fabia for a Wiring Loom issue related i think to the A/C .

Others might know and a Dealership can check for a TPI.

Maybe nothing to do with this post but ask a dealership or Skoda UK CS.  http://skoda.co.uk/about-us/contact-us

Might not show here.

This thread might not be the right one and unrelated, but there are others if you search.  Misfires can have the EPC come on.  That is what the EPC is about...
