Free Insurance offer on new Skoda

Featured Replies

The wife collects her new Silverline on Saturday morning ,does anyone know the cover for the free insurance. I understand that both of us are covered ,but is it Fully Comprehensive and what type of excess is linked to it.

I have read on other threads that cover can be limited, ie mileage per year and for what purpose the car is to be used (social and domestic ?). The car is to be used to go too and from work and used socially (Like everyone i presume).

Hope you can help.

cheers

If you haven't received a reply from one of our members by Saturday, Mark, perhaps you could post the answer for future reference when your wife has collected the car.

according to the small print on the ads , it does not include cover travelling to and from work.

Social , domestic and pleasure only.

I believe S, D & P is the norm with these free insurance jobbies but not covering a daily commute is a bit harsh. Are you sure? Fully comprehensive should also be a given. It may be worth a phone call to get the facts (to the company underwriting the offer, not Skoda).

While checking the small print see if there is some incentive to stay with whoever is offering the policy eg Direct Line. Many years ago I got free insurance on a new Citroen, if I renewed after the free first year they offered a 65% NCD. Perfect for someone with no insurance history and I'm still with them. :drive:

Thanks guys for the response's. It would be a bit harsh as you say to not cover for travelling to and from work but cover social and domestic pleasure!

I expect to see that the excess on the policy to be quite a lot and probably a limit to the yearly mileage.

This is what we had on an insurance policy for a Citroen AX we bought.

Will post any notes i find on the policy when we collect the car.

Anyway 26hrs until collection. Thanks a lot for all the help over the last 2 weeks.

How do i get to view forum 5517, new to the forum.

The quick way is to look at the address bar, and change the numbers on the end to 5517

But he's never going to do that because he got the **** taken out of him.

Well you see I went straight from reading 5517 to this one. I thought it might even be a joke. Head hung in shame.

OTOH, I feel victimized by 5517 at the moment - I'm one of the youngsters who can't spell and shouldn't even have noticed the extraneous apostrophe. ;)

On the L&K we bought in March we got

No worries, no offence taken for the suppose p### take, read 5517 and now know and understand what you meant by it.

Need to get to grips with all your humour out there quickly.

Mark, be advised there are more wind-up merchants on this site than in all the cuckoo clock factories in Switzerland! :D

Got the free insurance details through and yes it covers for a maximum of 10,000 miles per year and for Socail, Domestic and Pleasure use only.

Contacted the broker and he altered to cover use for travelling too and from work over the phone.

He apparently would change the mileage allowance also if need be as well.

Mark..
