New stereo wiring / cl problem

Featured Replies

Hello I am new to this forum and have had a good look through but cant seem to find a thread of the same issue so here goes.

I have just bought a 2001 4x4 1.8t Octavia as a daily commuter and wish to install a newer head unit as I no longer own any cassettes!

After reading on here for info about wiring I have the stereo working, need to get an aerial booster but dab and bluetooth are working well so that can wait.

The issue is with the central locking, with the old stereo or nothing connected it works fine, but with the new stereo in the remote central locking doesnt work, although it works on the key, any tips greatfully received, cheers.

How did you wire it in then?

I used a PC2-69-4 adapter and an aerial booster (can't find the code now) with no issues.

Badly as it didnt work , no,  I used the video Deanvrs20vt has linked, cheers, and another post had a link to a wiring diagram which I copied, the wiring seems correct in as much as the stereo works and keeps its memory and all that business but it seems to have stopped the remote central locking working, the only differences with the new stereo is the cd changer plugs not being used.

Below is the stereo's own wiring descriptions and the description from the skoda wiring diagram.

The speaker plug is seperate and obvious.

The power (on the stereo) plug has

Pin1 empty-skoda is volume adaptation

Pin2 telephone mute-skoda same

Pin3 empty-skoda k wire

Pin4 battery-skoda ignition controlled on / off

Pin5 Power control-skoda Terminal 30

Pin6 Light control-skoda lighting

Pin7 ignition (acc)-skoda Terminal 30

Pin8 Ground-skoda Terminal31

Pins 4 and 7 being the yellow and red leads on bullets I have tried swapping and neither seems to allow the central locking to work.

Maybe I am being thick but I dont see any other wiring combination that should or would affect the vehicle.
