Memory seat buttons removal due to buzz / rattle

Featured Replies

Hi I need help, can you remove the memory seat buttons?

The history: i have spent a lot of time finding and resolving all the squeaks and rattles and the car is quieter than ever however I have had a rattle/buzz from the "door card" for some time which I have cannot find so this week I took the plunge and removed the door card. Not that difficult once commited and I thought I found the problem with a couple of broken door clips. I made a repair and all seemed fine. Anyway had to nip to the shops and guess what it was still their same pitch/sound as before so clearly not the door. It was only by chance that fumbling around the bottom of the door whilst driving that I put my hand on to the memory seat controls and it stopped!! Hand off started again!!! So I have found the problem. Worth noting for all of you who has a buzz / rattle from what appears to be the door.

So now I need to remove the buttons so I can try and resolve the issue, any ideas??

Yes, it is easy, just pry them out gently, with a blunt tool. Start from the bottom side (number 3), because the connector and the cable are on the upper side of the module.

Thank you however it’s the main controllers I am looking at removing, do they pop off as easy? I could just pull them and see but I don’t want to risk it.

You said memory seat buttons in the first post, which is exactly what I've posted as a solution. The other button caps can just be pulled off.

I apologise for the terminology error and thank you

Pulling hard but no movement of the controls!!! Do I pull harder?

Try to pry them out by inserting something flat (ideally a plastic tool) between the cover and the seat, a simple lever system (I don't think someone actually glued them)

Couldn’t wait, popped off with plastic tool took a little force. All greased up and now should be nice and quiet

thank you Vborovic

Good to know it helped you
