Featured Replies

hi to all.

i'm new owner of 2010 oktavia and i'm new to this forum.

Please shear with me your knowledge before i make an serious mistake.

in my unit the hidden menu is real hidden so i have only the radio selections and no other info. (no access to VCDS yet)

i pull out the unit and the sticker has the code : 3T0 035 680 A     HW:H05    SW:2684

My maps has a POI and the radio has a RDS so i suspect the firmware has be changed. is this correct?

the highest firmware for my unit is the 4020/4024 is this correct?

what is the newest map version  for the 4020 or any other suitable firmware for my unit?

after update is it possible to loose some functions as fron and back parking sensor or anything else?

thanks in advance fro any help.

As Rustynuts confirm in another topic I should go for firmware 5238 this is common for skoda and VW.

I give more info when I do it.

All good no harm is done.

I download the firmware   FW_5238_ORIG from hear   and I burn it in CD-R.

I download the maps V15 from hear   i use the torrent in post 22. I burn in DVD+R DL at 4x speed.

No other file or sd card needed.

*HD data will be lost keep back up of your music.

procedure

·         With the key out of ignition start the Colombus and insert the firmware cd-r.

·         You have to confirm the firmware installation.

·         when installation starts (bars run from 0% to 100%) you don't need to be present any more you can come back after 45 minutes.

·          The installation will restart the unit a few times and will hard restart at getaway installation.

·          when the installation finishes the cd-r, will be ejected. At this point, the firmware is installed but no maps exist.

·          if you press the navigation button the system will ask for maps DVD.

·         Insert the map DVD+R DL with the V15 maps. the installation can be monitoring by one bar at the bottom of the screen.

·          The installation duration keeps about 45-50 minutes. When finish the system ask to remove the DVD.

·         After this, you can go to SETUP button and keep it pressed for 30 seconds. In the info window, you can confirm the system and map installation.

*Some people use battery chargers during the installation. I have a normal battery and run both installations without issue I just keep the all lights off.

*Before start the map installation if you start your radio you will have some music to keep you company during map installation.

*I use the free and very good program imgBurn for the disks and verbatim dvd .

Did you noticed any functionality changes after update?

Not really, except:

·         Faster boot with more responsive to touch.

·         Ability to have the map version by holding the “set up” for 30 seconds.

·         Ability to search the map by postcode. (Not sure if I have this before).

The rest set up continue to work fine. (Parking sensors, voice commands, steering wheel buttons)

I continue to have a problem with Bluetooth because my phone doesn’t support RSAP so I’m going to change the Bluetooth module soon.

Just for the info.

I replace my  5N0035730B with  3C8-035-730-B  and is really plug and play.

3 minutes for 3 bolts and direct Bluetooth connection to my phone.

My car is oktavia 2010 and i have a white display at instruments and Colombus radio.

All contacts downloaded to the radio ( if the language is not supported by the firmware the name remain blank or  with strange characters)

exist also caller list, unanswered calls, speed dial, music streaming.

i don't have rsap supported phone to test messages.
