Need a radio code

Featured Replies

How do I go about getting a caode for a Symphony CD player on a Saturday afternoon when the dealers are all shut?

Seb

you don't sadly, if the dealers can't help then go to your local car audio place and they should be able to get the unit sent away and de-coded :)

well I've got the code but it still doesn't work so I guess it must be the wrong code but I am assured it is the right one. bugger.

Sorry to hear it still doesn't work, but how did you get the code you need?

Radio was an ebay moment and seller responded with code, which does not work.

Local Skoda Dealer (Jewsons, Oxford) say that if I come in with the code I think it is, the chassis number of the car it came from, my car and all my details they will do a code request which takes a few hours and will cost be 20 quid ish.

Time to complain to ebay or get a paypal refund I think

£20! he's 'avin' a laugh. My local dealer St.Andrews Garage Glasgow did it for nothing, they needed my details certainly but £20 quid! cor blimey Jewsons aren't shy.

You shouldn't need to do all that palaver unless you are in a hurry for your tunes. One saturday go in, provide all detais of your current car and tuner(take the SKZ No, off the side of the unit) they can access everything else from the reg no, if need be. They can then apply for the code on the Monday and either phone you with the correct one or input it for you the next saturday, job done.

typical jewson, make sure they give you the stereo code and not a wiper blade or something. there good at sorting problems out

it takes no time at all mate, a bloke came and fitted a new phone kit into my works van the other day and was here a total of 20 minutes, when he brought my keys back to me he said "i didn't know if you had the code for the stereo so i read it from the unit and wrote it on the manual for you"

Called the dealer I bought it from, had a chat to the parts man, explained the situation, he said give me the details and I'll call you back.

An hour later he calls me with the code. Radio swapped back out again this evening, enter code and sorted.

Autosales in Cannock - well pleased. Parts man seems to know his stuff too and all in the name of customer service.

Shame they are 100 miles from home.

A good result. How about posting feedback on this dealer in the Dealer Review section here too?
