Hi folks,

Just bought a 51 plate Octavia TDI Elegance last week and been lurking on here since. Should really have found this place before making the buy though as I fear the car has been abused and could have asked here for a few tips. After today when the used car dealer replaced a non working rear wiper motor with a recalimed one that had the feeder nossle missing for the rear wash water resulting in watering my boot, I no longer have any confidence in the warrenty . Only took me 5 minutes to replace the missing part from the broken motor that was taken out...took longer to re-attach the boot trim covering all the gubbins.

Total n00b with cars maintainance but already resolved to learn a lil more on maintainance before making this purchase. Between your experiances and a Haynes manual I stand to learn a lot.

Whoa, begining to ramble on here a little. Other than that I've been enjoying the ride every minute and happy to have found a forum of people that buy cars and not badges.

Enjoy the car .........not sure if a haynes manual is out yet but can't be far off.
