Clutch click every trip.

Featured Replies

Right I've had this for ages, and I think I need to get rid of it before I drive the car off a cliff to fix it permanently.

Click when pedal is 90% pressed and again on release about 80%.

Any ideas? Anyone fixed it before?

Cheers

Nothing to worry about. Mine did the same and I was worried it was an early sign of the switch on the clutch pedal failing, so making it impossible to start the car. Skoda garage took a look and said it was caused by the spring, and also perhaps a part on the end of the spring that connects to the pedal.

They said that it was not going to break and a spray of lubricant would probable fix it. Offered to replace the spring as it is difficult to be sure without taking thinks apart.

They gave it a spray and after about a week the clicking stopped. Comes back occasionally in hot weather.

I later found out it occurs on Fabia too.

It's been doing it for the last 60k miles, but I know it shouldn't. Just want it gone as it's really annoying me.

  • 2 weeks later...

Could be a cracked pedal box, which is quite common on VAG vehicles.
