2013 Octavia Roof Rails

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've just bought a '13 plate Octavia vRS TSI and it has no roof rails to attach a roof rack to. Bizarrely can't find any advice on it at all! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I guess you are talking about the saloon body style. Open each side door and check the top of the shut areas on the body, you might find one small open rivet in each door shut to anchor the roof bar feet.

If its an estate without roof rails...  Really...? Thats a new one on me.

Seems I am a complete moron, they are actually on the car (estate). Totally wasting your time!

Got a recommendation for the bars? ARe the cheaper ones any good? Looking for ski mounts.

I have thule wingbar roof mounts. After 3 years rubber in the mounts has started to squeak at speed, like its not there. I cant believe it because new 1.5m rubber (which can only cover 1 roof bar) costs 20eur, so I would need to buy 2. And the whole wingbar cost 100 eur. Currently I have duck tape over the rubber to make it silent but its not pretty.

For the record, some early pre facelift vRS230 estates (dealer demos) came through with no roof rails. They did look strange...
