Advice please!!!!! Octavia warning light

Featured Replies

Hi there, i'm new to this site so apologies if this question has been asked before...

I have a 2002 Skoda Octavia 2.0l 8v ambiente with about 45000 miles on the clock. Recently my engine warning light (the yellow one ) has come on. The first time it did this, a Skoda dealer just reset it and said it was either dodgy fuel or the Lambda sensor had gone. if i disconect the battery with this reset the light or is that an old wifes tale? secondly, is it harmful to the engine for it to be running with this light on?

Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks.

Ideally you need to identify what the code is that is causing the light to illuminate. VAG-COM is ideal for this.

More than likely a mixture adaption fault on a 2.0.

Have a search about, been covered quite a few times before.
