I have a Fabia lll bought new in  June 2016 today the keyless stop start key fob stopped working I checked the battery it was good but the fob would not produce a signal to start the car or lock it is there any way around this problem as I was stuck at Asda

Can you use the key in the door lock.

The metal blade inside the key not the key fob remote buttons.

If battery is down - hold top of key (Skoda logo end ) against the Engine-Start button and use it to push the button. The immobiliser chip is in that end of the key.

The screen between the dials (Speed & Tacho) usually reports  a "Key Battery Low" warning, well before the Fob stops functioning.

Also, the battery may not be flat, but there's not sufficient voltage for the key to do all its funky stuff.

Suggestion is to keep a few spare batteries in the Glovebox.

And to use CR2032s, (rather than the stock ones - 2025s I think -forgotten !)  and they have a bit more capacity, easier to get, and cheaper. Lidl and Ikea sell cards of them cheap as chips!  They are a bit of a squeeze to get into the key - but the key will take them.

Thanks Mithane the problem was not a dead battery but a fault in the key fob itself I final got my daughter to fetch my spare key and we took the faulty fob to a skoda dealer he took it away and when he brought it back it was working again all he said was he had put in a new battery but I had already tried that and it hadn't worked your advise to keep spare batteries in car is noted thanks again
