iPhone and VW

Featured Replies

BMW has had the remote unlock for a while now but it was via their own App.

I was never very comfortable with it tbh and I'm sort of glad it has expired.

Doing this via Siri will even be more secure since Apple will throw a lot more resource at it than VW or BMW would put into an App.

Article sounds like VW are just supporting Siri commands in their app, it's not a HomeKit type interface direct with the car, so it's still VW that are writing the link between Car-Net and the vehicle. Siri's just being used on the phone end as a macro for the app really.
