In the new configurator and brochures for the UK Kodiaq there is no longer a 2.0L petrol engine? Doe anybody know why this is and if it will ever be reintroduced?

Probably not WLTP tested or scheduled yet. If it does appear it will be 272ps Budack cycle 2.0tsi with 7 speed wet DSG and 4x4 as the only variant (my guess)
