Revo Stage 1?

Featured Replies

Looking to Revo Stage 1 my Rapid Sport 1.2 TSI 110 as I downgraded from an Octavia VRS an find it too flat obviously, has anyone done this remap already and any input? Also looking to add some Monte Carlo body kit work and 30mm lowering springs

Welcome.

Maybe give APR some thought.

I have the Revo Stg1 in my fabia 1.2tsi 110.

A very lively upgrade, no problems so far. I have it since April this year. Mind you that I am now limited to at least 97 octane fuel or better.
Tuner advised me to stick to this especially in summer months.

You can clearly feel the torque increase and the flat spot on top of rev range is removed and now pulls all the way to redline.

Thanks guys, I tend to only use premium fuel when I fill up anyway so hopefully shouldn't be an issue with the octane level, I have contacted somewhere to enquire but no reply so far

You get 'Premium Diesel,   with petrol you get Unleaded 95 ron or 97 ron or 99 ron Super Unleaded.  97 or 99 at Sainsbury / Tesco / Costco is just that Superunleaded,

and Shell V-Power Nitro+ is as well, Super Unleaded, nothing Premium about it, just a higher octane.

REVO and APR say the figures for 98 ron and when you ask where they get 98 they waffle as none is sold in the UK, so they are talking 97 or 99 minimum in the UK.

VW never bother having a UK relevant webpage or update.

Well yeah I did mean super unleaded but thanks for that lol super unleaded is all I use, I just don't see why anyone would put cheaper lower octane petrol in a new/nearly new engine

Because its £5 a tank cheaper? (and few engines actually need it)

Same reason why any of us would buy this very ordinary car (Rapedo of course) - it's cheaper :)

I just assumed all new(ish) engines would be built for higher octane fuels, learn something new I guess and true lol it was a close call with a Fabia but liked the look Sport trim on the Rapid and wanted to do some Monte Carlo style customising.

I looked at the Monte Carlo bodykit for mine but with it being race blue I felt that it wouldn't be very noticeable so decided not to. I did fit the Monte black grill surround which made a huge difference to the front as well as the black magic Skoda badge for the bonnet.

The Maxton Design front splitter was in the black Friday sale last year I think so depending on how i feel, if I see it again this Friday I might go for it. Last time I enquired, the monte side skirts were cheaper from the Skoda dealer than Superskoda.

I personally wouldn't touch the engine. I would rather buy a car that was powerful to begin with. Although unlikely, there's more chance of a 1.2 turbo going pop with too much "spirited driving" than a 2 litre TFSI with 280ps as these engines are already designed to be tuned to over 300ps

Good to know about the black Friday deal as some parts are a little pricey on superskoda, I will check with the dealer too, as for the remap, I've checked the Revo website and it only pushes out an extra 15-20hp and some extra torque, just to get rid of the lack of oomph in the low revs

Also, if it's the same a my 1.2 then there is no turbo boost in 1st gear which was something to do with the emissions I think. Might be worth finding out if they can change the software to give you boost in 1st.

I always found it very "interesting" pulling out of a busy roundabout and got it into second as quickly as I could

Boost in 1st with the gearbox you have and the tyres is just going to be spinning wheels is it not, and TC / ASR killing power unless the TC / ASR is off.

Then just wheel spin....

My current Rapid has boost in first. Although I haven't driven both cars one after the other, the 1.2 had no power, nothing, when it came to pulling out quickly onto a roundabout. I had to quickly get it into second for it to actually do anything. The 1.0 has turbo boost in first so it is very straight forward to safely get onto a roundabout or out of a busy junction.

Must say I never noticed the 1.2 105 was slow in 1st.

But my FIAT JTD when it had MAF and EGR problems was exactly as you describe, only it had no power in 2nd either! It was truly terrifying at T-junctions.

I wonder then if it was because I had the greentech version. Maybe something to do with reducing the emissions to qualify for the £30 road tax
