  • I surprised myself, I actually managed 15 minutes but now I have to go and lie down in a dark quiet room.   If you were trapped in a lift with him how long could you control yourself before

  • Don't give up the day job can't see Porsche ringing you anytime soon.

  • Taycan SuperCharged )

'I can literally feel the electricity vibrating in this cable' - what an idiot!

I think comparisons between the Taycan and Model S are a bit pointless, they are not in the same market segment. They would not do a comparison between a Panamera and an S-class in the ICE world, so why with the EV world?

Unfortunately people do make the comparison. EV are still treated like a special side-product that don't qualify comparing against ICE in eyes of some old-style motor journalists

Ignoring that, I think the Top Gear video is very balanced and done well.

The single biggest gripe I have with other traditional motor journalists is that they don't mention charging. I know car enthusiastic may blank out during that period, but for EV, it's the single most important aspect. Range doesn't matter, 250 vs 320 miles (or whatever) doesn't matter as much as having the charging network and able to repeatedly do the quick recharge at every stop.

The 911, GT-R, R8 and M850i drag race is worth a watch also.

Moral of the story don't park next to a Porsche Taycan. Tesla Model S or a Vauxhall Zafira or your pride and joy may be cremated.:o

Or

Any Skoda's just burst into flames?

Stories on this very forum? sure:

But unlike EV's, odd cases of fire doesn't make sensational news stories, so you won't see ICE car fires plastered on every news outlets unless it's really serious.

The estate version of the Taycan will go on sale early in 2021 with the base model the 4S packing 429bhp (523bhp on overboost), The Turbo will develop a maximum of 617bhp and the range topper the Turbo S will have 751bhp when in it's sportiest mode and launch control selected. It will be called the Taycan Cross Turismo. Unless a rival beats it to market it will be the World's first electric performance estate car, faster than an Audi RS6 Avant.
