Self Levelling lights sensors, Octavia Mk1 H&K

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Although my light seem to self level (although a little high), I've noticed that the arm from the front nearside levelling sensor that connects to the chassis is missing and, given the amount of rust on the sensor arm ball joint, it's been missing for some time.

Ive asked my local dealer for a replacement  arm  but he wants £56 so I thought I'd try a breakers, however before I travel 40miles, I would appreciate if someone could answer these questions, please?

1 Do all Octavia's have a self levelling system or are they only on H&K variants?

2 Does anyone know the length of this sensor arm - maybe I could make one?

3 Does anyone know where I can get a used complete arm and sensor?

Regards

Geoff.

My vRS has factory xenons

If I get chance at the weekend (and if it isn't thrashing with rain again) will see if i can measure up and take some photo.

As far as I know, the levelling sensors (Litronic i believe) were only fitted on the models with xenons as it was a requirement to save blinding other drivers.

There is another sensor on the n/s of the rear beam. Mine was really rusted up, but a good few squirts of penetrating spray soon sorted it.

A bit of info on the topic here

notes on adjusting here

Quick ebay search found this at half the cost of the dealer part

Well, in the first place I've never heard of an Octavia "Heckler und Kock"! :)

More pertinently, xenon (aka plasma discharge) lights were I think standard on the Lauren & Klemen, and optional on the Elegance and vRS.
