Halogen Projector Headlights

Featured Replies

Random question for you all...

Facelift headlights - I'm guessing there are only two varients, halogen and led?

All pictures of the halogen show a reflector style setup however the spec states a projector setup (SE Tech.)

@Loada or anyone else with a FL SE Tech, can you snap a picture of your lights?

I'm dreading going from bi-xenons to what I can only imagine is akin to a candle so trying to do some research whilst I want for it to arrive.

Cheers

Every 18 reg SE Tech on Autotrader has halogens. Have you selected a SE Tech on Skoda's web configurator? It also has halogens. Solution: add more carrots to your diet. :giggle:

Must admit we're looking to replace our SEAT which has LED and it's become a 'must have' feature.

I'm in the same situation too, the Yeti that I currently drive has amazing B -Xenon lights which on full beam light the road up an incredible distance ahead of me, probably in part due to the height of the car. I know the standard Octavia headlamps are not all that great, they were poor on the pre facelift Elegance model that I had before the Yeti and are not likely going to be all that wonderful on the SE Tech model that I'm waiting on now. I'm not too bothered about whether a car has leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof or toys like being able to park itself but decent headlamps and heated seats are more the kind of thing that appeal to me these days. I managed to add heated seats to the car spec along with metallic paint and the variable load floor which is very handy in the Estate version; gives lots of space to keep odds and ends in the boot but out of sight and a flat load space. But adding on any more extras wouldn't have made much sense on a PCH car deal.

When I read the SE tech brochure for the octavia, it shows halogen projector headlights.

Just not sure if this is a typo or not?

It's not a typo - if you look at the specs for the most basic S...

Lol begs the question... Wheres the projector lense?

Thankfully I know someone in the automative light industry who can help me out but was hoping not to get reflector based halogens after seeing that in the spec :(

Must be a typo, can't see any with halogen projectors, only halogen reflectors.

That's something to reflect on. :giggle:

Anyway if the Halogens aren't bright enough, you could always try out nightvision aids...

Pre-face lift Ocativa owner and I can tell you right now. The lights are awful. I have even changed them. Led or xenon next for sure.

I've just handed back my SE Sport with bi-xenon's and the thought of a car without them now is almost like going blind :(
