Window switch

Featured Replies

I’ve been having an issue with the drivers window switch not dropping the window when pressed , I thought it was my fat fingers and not pressing it hard enough or for long enough

I didn’t  say anything to my other half (she drives the vehicle more than me) but this morning she called to say it wouldn’t go down at the barrier at work and then told me it’s happend before she thinking the same it was her

has any one els experienced this

vehicle is 6 months old 14,000 miles

When leaving work, or arriving at work?

I experienced the same issue on our 2016 MkIII Octavia Scout. For (roughly) 10-20 seconds after starting the engine, the drivers window was inoperative.

After that time, it worked as normal for the duration of the journey.

when leaving work , thats interesting you saying that ,did you get to the bottom of it ?

I did mention it when it was in for its first service (along with the squeaky front suspension), but as with a lot of faults these days, if they aren't logged or present whilst the car is at the dealer, you just get the usual 'bring it back if it happens again sir'.

It was on a two year lease, and was the wife's car, so my desire or inclination to solve it wasn't there unfortunately.

Does control return to the windows at any point during her journey, or are they permanently disabled?

She said that once out of the car park and driving at a steady speed it worked ok and did so every time she tried

I will monitor and mention to dealer .

Short journey car and low battery voltage was my first thought but 14k in 6  months seems unlikely..... that’s about 3 years for me these days.
